I made a decision today.
I had to drive east from Dayton, Ohio, and I had to choose between I-70 and state route 40.
I chose 40. Basically, I put the top down and found a fruited plain, then aimed at the purple mountain majesties above it in the distance and let ‘er rip. Spent an hour or two with the cruise set at 60, occasionally slowing down to coast through a small town and take it in.
I urge everyone, especially fellow Jalops, to occasionally make the time to take the back roads. I believe this is good for the soul.

I’ve been on almost every single mile of i70, and unless you’re west of Denver, pick anything else.

Yeah, part of my decision today was based on my experience on I-70 west through Columbus a few days ago.

Lies. There’s no mountains in Ohio

valid point. the imagery does kinda break down when you consider that fact, especially between Dayton and Columbus, which is where I was at the time. I might argue that it gets a little hilly near the eastern border with WV...

Ohio and Indiana are bad. Kansas is worse
